Employee Retention Scheme
Do you know that FÁS operate an Employee Retention Grant Scheme? The purpose of this scheme is to encourage employers to keep on employees who get sick or injured which may impact on their ability to carry out their normal duties.
The grant is to enable such employees re-training so that they can undertake alternative duties or continue to do their existing duties with some modifications.

At any time, employers may be faced with the scenario of a valued member of staff becoming disabled due to illness or disability and asking themselves 'where do we go from here?’
FÁS Services to Business Division provides a support which has been designed to meet such a situation.
It is available to all companies in the private sector.
The Employee Retention Grant Scheme was developed to assist businesses retain, in their employment, an employee who develops a disability whether occupational or not. It provides funding to identify accommodation or training to enable the employee remain in their current position or to re-train them to take up another position within the organisation.
There are two stages to the scheme – assessment and implementation. In stage one, up to 90% of the costs of developing a strategy can be funded up to a maximum of €2,500. In stage two, for the implementation of the retention strategy, funding up to 90% of eligible programme costs is available up to a maximum of €12,500 for each application.
